The post holder will provide an efficient and professional reception service for the Treatment Service delivery at our Northampton hub and be the first point of contact for people attending the service.   Responsibilities   Duties for the post include responsibility for front of house activities, dealing with initial queries, welcoming clients and professionals into the service, co-ordinating appointments, signposting to support available within the service and the community, administration tasks, accurate information, and data recording. Volunteer Counselling Placement at CGL Bi-Borough Counselling Service

Are you a BACP registered or accredited counsellor (to a minimum of level 4) or a second-year counselling student on a level 4 (or above) diploma? Do you want to work in an environment where you can use your counselling skills to achieve the best for people?   We are looking for volunteers who would like the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people who are directly and indirectly affected by alcohol and substance use. You will be expected to work in accordance with BACP guidelines and within our framework for counselling services, which promotes therapeutic safety and sound clinical governance.

It’s often overwhelming for the people we support to make changes in their lives, as a Activity and Recovery Events volunteer you will play a key role in proving a safe space for our service users to get together, connect and have fun.   This a new and exciting opportunity for someone to develop our social activity programme. You will take a lead in organising, promoting, and facilitating fun recovery focused activities like bingo, movie nights and group walks.  

As a Social Media Volunteer, you will help in supporting the team to maintain and grow our social media presence. This will include promoting local initiatives, providing harm reduction advice and updating people on any service changes.   You will also help support in the development and growth of our social media presence. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to gain experience while supporting a local service to grow and maintain its social media platforms and presence.   You will be led by our Partnerships & Communications Lead and will be given training around our service to support you in your role. You can really make a difference by helping us engage with service users and the wider community across a variety of platforms.

The role of the appropriate adult as stated in Code C 1.7A of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 Codes of Practice is to safeguard the rights, entitlements and welfare of juveniles and vulnerable persons [and] for this reason the appropriate adult is expected, amongst other things, to: - support, advise and assist them when . . . they are given or asked to provide information or participate in any procedure; - observe whether the police are acting properly and fairly to respect their rights and entitlements, and inform an officer of the rank of inspector or above if they consider that they are not; - assist them to communicate with the police whilst respecting their right to say nothing unless they want to as set out in the terms of the caution . . . - help them to understand their rights and ensure that those rights are protected and respected

At Change Grow Live we believe in supporting our service users to engage with services that assist with employment, training and volunteer opportunities.   As an ETE Volunteer, you will play an instrumental role in supporting the Education, Training and Employment lead.

Coming towards the end of their treatment and out of our service can be very difficult for some of our service users. You can make a difference. As a Volunteer Recovery Worker with Change Grow Live, you’ll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be. They will be in abstinent based recovery and coming to the end of their treatment journey with us as a service. With this role you’ll be working as part of our Peterborough team, based in Fletton and central  Peterborough The team supports people with their drug and alcohol misuse from start of their recovery journey through to pscychosocial interventions, detox, rehab, getting stability and into ongoing abstinent based recovery. No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

At Change Grow Live we believe training is a great way to engage and connect with people who use our services. We also consider that having a well-trained workforce supports us to deliver the best possible outcomes. We offer a wide range of training programmes, which provide varied outcomes to learners.   In becoming a Volunteer Trainer (Accredited Learning) you will gain a QLS certificate for yourself through completing our internal ‘Train the Trainer’ course. The training you undertake and experiences you gain will give you a good insight into the world of training, teaching and education.

RISE is the substance misuse service for adults residing in Ealing Borough who wish to address their drug and/or alcohol issues.   As RISE continues to increase its provision of access and support for individuals with complex mental health conditions, a vacancy has arisen for a Volunteer Recovery Support. They will need to have a specialism in Complex Dual Diagnosis (Co-existing Mental Health and Substance Use)    The Dual Diagnosis Team for Ealing RISE supports service users dealing with: - complex co-existing mental health and substance use conditions - addressing their substance misuse issues - using assertive in-reach, multi-agency partnership working & treatment plans - a dedicated pathway of care You will support Team members with their caseload of clients with complex Co-existing Mental Health and Substance Use disorders, who have compounding issues and/or other needs; including: - non-compliance or engagement with support services neurodevelopmental conditions - learning disabilities - challenging personality disorders - poor physical health - lack of community &/or family support, - unsuitable living conditions - challenges from multiple services involvement  safeguarding or exploitation concerns

We are seeking Dual Diagnosis Family and Carer Support Volunteers.    Co-existing mental health and substance misuse conditions can have a huge impact on everyone, especially the family, friends and loved ones of those misusing drink/drugs. Loved ones can be left feeling angry, hurt, isolated, stigmatised and ashamed.   It can be overwhelming for those affected by someone’s co-existing mental health and substance misuse conditions to take the first step and ask for help, as a family and carer volunteer you will be using your own experiences of living with /supporting someone with co-existing mental health and substance misuse conditions to promote hope and support to others. You will be providing them with a safe, non-judgmental friendly space where they can express their anxieties and share their experiences.

1625 Outreach is no normal drug and alcohol service. It is an innovative and forward-thinking project, with a proven track record of effectively engaging young people and young adults.   Our ethos is centred around the principles of harm reduction, we provide non-judgmental, fact-based, information and advice surrounding drug and alcohol use and the associated risks.   We aim to give young people and young adults the knowledge and skills to make more informed choices, to keep themselves and their peers aware, safe, and well when it comes to drugs/alcohol.

People serving time in custody are often going through the most challenging and stressful periods in their lives. Prison is not an easy environment to live in, and feelings of isolation, loneliness and disconnect from loved ones are very common. People distance themselves from their significant others for a whole host of reasons; some feel guilty about being incarcerated and want to shelter those they love; for others, they find keeping in touch with their loved ones too painful and upsetting, and the contact they do have only reminds them of their separation; and for some, the offence they committed means that they are no longer allowed to be in touch with those nearest to them. Visits from someone impartial and non-judgemental can be a lifeline for prisoners, particularly the isolated and vulnerable.   We therefore need Volunteer Prison Visitors with good listening skills, empathy, clear professional boundaries and a good understanding of their own, and the role’s limitations. It can take time for our service users to engage and trust in you, so consistency, patience and resilience is key to the role.
