This is what a volunteer shared

"Following my peer mentoring with the Recovery Support Service I’ve been volunteering for almost 14 months with Southwark CGL. It has been challenging, a learning growth and now very rewarding that I’m working with service users and managing my caseload.  I enjoy working with the service users who are my focus and passion, and I appreciate the support and opportunity. I really want to thank all the staff and managers that have given me support and encouragement, and lots of help, advice in getting me where I am today."

This is what one of our Social Work Placements shared

“It’s been a pleasure working with CGL I learnt so much in such a short space of time, and I was provided with many opportunities that allowed me to develop my skills and knowledge within the health and social care practice not just drug and alcohol-related services. I learnt about understanding what a person with lived experience wanted and applying this to work in their best interests and support them in the best ways possible.”

This is what one of our Service User rep shared

"I like doing what I do is because it keeps my feet firmly on the ground and keeps my head where it needs to be and plus healing someone who has no-one makes me feel good."
