Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Think Family Volunteer to support our work with families affected by drug and alcohol use.

Based within Hull's ReNew service, you’ll be part of our Think Family team, helping us create a welcoming, supportive environment where parents, carers and families feel listened to, understood and able to access the support they need.

You’ll help us take a whole-family approach, recognising that substance use can affect more than just the individual. By offering a friendly face, practical support and encouragement, you’ll help families feel more connected to their community and better able to access the services available to them.

You don’t need to be an expert. We’re looking for someone who is approachable, compassionate and willing to learn. You’ll receive support and guidance from the Think Family team, with opportunities to develop your skills and make a positive difference to the lives of families in Hull.

Responsibilities

Volunteers contribute to Change Grow Live in a variety of ways. From Admin Volunteers to Service User Reps, from Peer Mentors to Healthcare Support Volunteers, from Independent Visitors to Community Mentors each volunteer brings a unique set of skills and talents. We are incredibly grateful for all that volunteers do to support our service users.

If there isn’t a specific volunteering role listed for the service in your area, or have a skill you would like to donate to us you can use this listing to express your interest.

Most of our volunteer opportunities don’t need any special qualifications. We’ll make sure you get all the training and support you need. All we ask is that you're kind, open-minded and passionate about supporting people.

Everyone is welcome at Change Grow Live. As a volunteer you will be treated with respect and accepted for who you are. You don’t need to have personal experience of drug and alcohol recovery to get involved
