Overview

Volunteers make an enormous contribution to our work at Change Grow Live.

Last year over 1400 volunteers donated over a quarter of million hours of their time to our organisation.

Would you like to join our growing team of volunteers, and make a real difference?

At Change Grow Live, West Lothian Recovery Service we are looking for someone to join our volunteer team in the Bathgate community recovery cafe, which runs every Wednesday afternoon.  This will allow us to continue developing this resource and make recovery more visible and accessible.

The community cafés are run weekly, with one in Bathgate and Livingston.  It is a place for the recovery community to come together, relax and socialise while enjoying a tea/coffee and some light snacks.  The cafés are open to our service users and those in the local recovery community.  It’s an opportunity to enjoy some social activity, light snacks and to find out more about our service and how we can support people.  All this helps to promote positive feelings of wellbeing and inclusivity through both individual and group interactions, supporting loneliness, isolation and a sense of connection and togetherness through social engagement and communication.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is friendly, punctual and wants to help support people to connect in the recovery community.

Responsibilities

  • Volunteers contribute to Change Grow Live in a variety of ways. From Admin Volunteers to Service User Reps, from Peer Mentors to Healthcare Support Volunteers, from Independent Visitors to Community Mentors each volunteer brings a unique set of skills and talents. • If there isn’t a specific volunteering role listed for the service in your area, or have a skill you would like to donate to us you can use this listing to express your interest.
