Responsibilities

Purpose of role:

We are committed to valuing, supporting, and developing our volunteers.

We strive to ensure our services are warm and welcoming environments. Your role will be to be the first point of contact within the service, greeting all our visitors promptly in a friendly and courteous manner. You will be supporting reception dealing with initial queries, coordinating appointments and signposting to support available within the service and the community.

Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience so your role will be to make them feel at ease and supporting them to register with the service.

You will be a positive role model to people who use our services, motivating, encouraging, and inspiring them to reach their potential. You will be provided with all the skills, training and support you will need to undertake the role.
Key Activities:
• As first point of contact, ensure people who use our services and other visitors receive a friendly and efficient service and that all visits are dealt with promptly and courteously
• Contribute to the improvement and upkeep of service user areas, ensuring that the reception area is welcoming and tidy
• Contribute to information displayed in the reception area being tidy, current and relevant
• Support the reception team and key workers in promoting recovery
• Support people who use our services to register with the service
• Support people who use our services to make telephone calls i.e. housing/ benefits
• Help support people who use our services to provide us with feedback on their views and experiences, for example by encouraging completion of the Pulse Survey
• Providing basic advice and information on the service offer
• Sharing any relevant information with staff to help support people accessing our services

 

Candidates selected for interview will be invited to attend on 5th October.

* Please note that, if successful in this recruitment process, you will be required to attend the following mandatory training dates:

 

Tuesday 3rd November 2026 - Induction 10am to 4pm

Tuesday 10th November 2026 - Boundaries and Confidentiality 10am to 4pm

Tuesday 17th November 2026 - Drug and Alcohol Awareness 10am to 4pm

Tuesday 24th November - Harm Minimisation and Naloxone 10am to 4pm

Tuesday 1st December - Shared Lived Experience Framework 10am to 1pm
