Overview

We are a free and confidential service for adults (18+) in Liverpool who are experiencing difficulties with substances.

 

We believe everyone has the ability to make positive changes. We work with individuals, families, carers, and professionals to offer support that’s right for you.

 

Whether you need one-to-one help, group sessions, or access to medication and treatment, we're here for you.

 

Volunteers play a crucial role in helping us bring our vision to life and deliver our services effectively. Their dedication strengthens the quality, reach, and accessibility of our support, allowing us to help even more people.

 

Responsibilities

As an Outreach support volunteer, you will play a pivotal role within the local   community promoting our services and engaging with our service users/individuals/rough sleepers and partner agencies. 

 

Your role will be to support the team to engage and support individuals who are experiencing homelessness and have multiple needs/substance misuse. You will be responding to referrals, targeting known locations within the community actively engaging and building a positive relationship with people who are rough sleeping/experiencing problems with substance misuse.

 

As part of a team, you will be working with partner agencies, signposting individuals, empowering and assisting them to access relevant services. Advocating for them and supporting them to achieve their goals and make positive changes as well as managing expectations of all involved.

 

Outreach can be fast paced and challenging role so you will need to be responsive and adaptable with the ability to work quickly and effectively. This role can involve working anti-social hours and at times in adverse weather conditions carrying essential provisions such as food and paperwork so you will need to be to be flexible and resilient.

 

No two days are the same and you can really make a difference in helping to keep people safe. You will be provided with all the skills, training and support to undertake the role. Supporting rough sleepers is really rewarding and you can make a real difference to somebody’s life. This is the perfect role for a sociable and outgoing person who wants to help their community.

 

You will be supporting the team to re-engage clients when they have dropped out of treatment, advising them of the services available and offering them the knowledge and advice to enable them to keep themselves safe. You will also be assisting the staff to undertake home visits and engage with those who are unable to attend our services.

 

 

  • Interviews: Will take place towards the last two weeks of Febuary 2026
  • Training: Will start on the third week of March (1 day per week for – 6 weeks).
