Responsibilities

Volunteering at Change Grow Live

It’s often overwhelming for young people to make changes in their lives. You can help by giving your time as a volunteer peer mentor. There are lots of different ways you could help support other young people and our services, this can include:

Being a voice for other young people, getting their feedback and sharing ideas on how to improve the service and letting us know what is and isn’t working. You can help shape how we deliver our services contributing to what we post on social media and help run our outreach youth events. You will be a positive role model promoting our service to other young people and the community. Attending events at schools and colleges and supporting the delivery of training and outreach events.

You could also have the opportunity to be matched with a young person working alongside them on a one-to-one basis. This can include supporting them to attend a group or appointment or just checking in with them to see how they are getting on once they have left the service. You will be a positive influence to the mentee motivating, encouraging, and inspiring them to reach their potential.

You will be provided with all the skills, training and regular 1.2.1 support needed to help you carry out the role. This is the perfect role for someone who wants to be a positive role model, has a passion for supporting others and wants to make a difference.

  • Most of our volunteer opportunities don’t need any special qualifications. We’ll make sure you get all the training and support you need. All we ask is that you're kind, open-minded and passionate about supporting people.
  • Everyone is welcome at Change Grow Live. As a volunteer you will be treated with respect and accepted for who you are. You don’t need to have personal experience of drug and alcohol recovery to get involved.
