Responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic Young Adults Outreach Volunteer to join our friendly and supportive team.

 

Change Grow Live - The Place provides support and treatment to young people under 25 in Nottingham who are experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol.

The role:

Where: Nottingham

When: Whether you can donate one day a week of your time or 3days+, we will work with you to be as flexible as possible. Our service is open 9AM – 5PM, and the core activity of this role will take place 9AM – 5PM.

 

Volunteer Expenses: Travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed as per CGL volunteer policy.

 

Key activities of the role –

  • Support staff to provide confidential, easily accessible, and non-judgmental information about drugs, alcohol and harm reduction advice.
  • Promote the support our service offers at drop-ins/stalls within colleges, universities, student health centres, student nights, student unions and night clubs
  • Promote how people can get in touch and receive support from us
  • Help to create a warm and friendly atmosphere and engage young people in interactive activities at drop-ins/stalls
  • Support staff with preparations for outreach activities e.g. setting up and packing away stall materials and displays.
  • Help staff to keep track of key themes from interactions with the young people and professionals
  • Signpost people to other specialist support services where appropriate
  • Raise concerns you are experiencing or that you have about others with staff as required, e.g. safeguarding
  • Opportunities to contribute to service social media posts related to outreach
