Overview

Volunteers make an enormous contribution to our work at Change Grow Live.

 

Last year over 1400 volunteers donated over a quarter of million hours of their time to our organisation.

 

Would you like to join our growing team of volunteers, and make a real difference?

Responsibilities

  • Act as first point of contact, ensure service users and other visitors receive a friendly and warm welcome to the service. Providing refreshments on arrival, ensuring that all attendees are dealt with promptly and courteously.
  • To work on a rota basis within the wider volunteer ‘engagement team’ to cover the reception area and monitor the upkeep of client areas, ensuring it is welcoming and tidy.
  • Contribute to maintaining the client information displayed in the reception, keeping it tidy, current and relevant. This includes displaying information provided by the SUI (Service User Involvement) team, such as ‘you asked, we did’ and events information, for example.
  • Support the reception team and key workers in delivering the message of recovery alongside promoting harm reduction initiatives such as the syringe exchange and naloxone provision.
  • Support service users to complete registration paperwork
  • Support service users to make telephone calls i.e. housing/ benefits
  • Promote and support service user involvement, including the service user forum, and completing SUI ‘Pulse’ surveys with people.
  • Providing basic advice and information on the service offer, and referral where appropriate.
  • To link in and support the assessment team, and to support community events/training sessions provided by the Community Prevention and Education Practitioner where appropriate.

Education Knowledge and Experience:

  • Lived experience / understanding of the issues faced by our client group
  • Willingness to work with the client group in a proactive, positive and trauma informed way.
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to respect and maintain confidentiality
