Research & Development Volunteer

You will support 1625 Outreach’s work across Derby, Derbyshire & Sheffield. The role could include the following activities: 

• Research & Development
  • Looking at emerging trends by analysing data 1625 Outreach has collected
  • Presenting your findings (either producing a document or presentation
  • Develop resources and materials for the service, including social media content

• Administration 
  • Review feedback and survey responses from the young people we speak to
  • Organising stock and making resource packs

• Shadowing & Observing 
  • Observing staff members as they work with young people
  • Attending team meetings & Development days

1625 Outreach is no normal drug and alcohol service. It is an innovative and forward-thinking project, with a proven track record of effectively engaging young people and young adults. Our ethos is centred around the principles of harm reduction. We provide non-judgmental, fact-based, information and advice surrounding drug and alcohol use and the associated risks. We aim to give young people and young adults the knowledge and skills to make more informed choices, to keep themselves and their peers aware, safe, and well when it comes to drugs/alcohol.  

Our service has been founded on the principle of co-production and involving young people at every step of our journey. Following this strategy, our volunteer roles have been developed to harness the varied experiences of our volunteers. We aim to give you the power to shape the way 1625 Outreach influences the young people we support. 

You will receive extensive training and experience in this role. Volunteers can obtain further training and qualifications via Change Grow Live’s accredited and regulated training routes.
