Do you want to support your community and make a difference to reduce drug deaths and reduce harm to people who use drugs?
As a Harm Reduction Peer Educator with Change Grow Live you’ll work with people who use drugs in an outreach environment across all communities in Edinburgh. We will help reduce stigma, educate individuals/groups around overdose awareness, harm reduction and build local relationships with people in the communities.
With this role you’ll be working as part of Harm Reduction Peer Educators team, based in Edinburgh.
The team supports people with their or their loved ones’ drug issues and provide harm reduction advice.
CGL Harm Reduction peer educators will be a great community asset and will complement the existing provision of overdose awareness and naloxone training. Under the scheme, Harm Reduction Peer Educators (HRPE) will make direct supplies of naloxone and Injecting equipment provision to individuals they have trained/educated using the CGL Supply Framework.
We will support you in this volunteering role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision, and have someone on site who you can approach for day-to-day advice and guidance. In return for the time you give you will receive valuable training and gain experience and skills. You’ll be making a real difference too.

“The peers on the streets treated me with respect and did not judge me and they directed me to get further support. I felt like the 15 minute chat we had made me want to go for further support to overcome my issues”.
