Volunteering in Substance Misuse Services

Overview

Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience for the people we support. You can make a difference.

As a Volunteer Recovery Support Worker with Change Grow Live you’ll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be.

Responsibilities

With this role you’ll be volunteering as part of  our Central Norwich team,

The team supports people with their or their loved ones’ drug and/or alcohol issues.

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

We will support you in this volunteering role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision, and have someone on site who you can approach for day-to-day advice and guidance. In return for the time you give you will receive valuable training and gain experience and skills. You’ll be making a real difference too.

We are looking to recruit Volunteers to help with the running of our service from Reception to Admin and Criminal Justice to Complex needs. We offer training and valuable experience in a fast moving part of the Health and Social care sector.

If you have time to give then we would love to hear from you. As a guide a minimum of 1 day per week is preferable but please do get in touch as we are also looking at offering Community based sessions like Art or dog walking clubs and can help with getting these off the ground.
