Key Responsibilities:
One of the primary responsibilities of this role involves checking in with service users and arranging appointments. This task is crucial for encouraging engagement with their recovery support. Volunteers will call service users to ensure they are still engaged with the support provided, explore any reasons for non-engagement, offer advice, and promote CGL Groups and sessions. Additionally, volunteers will arrange appointments and keep Recovery Coordinators informed of any changes.
Another important aspect of this role is providing administrative support. Volunteers will assist the team by sending out non-engagement letters, supporting with discharges, and conducting Treatment Outcome Profiles (TOPS). They will also aid in assessment support and post-assessment administration, as well as contacting pharmacies and service users regarding prescriptions and missed doses. Regular updates to Nebula and other systems with relevant information are also required.
Beyond these responsibilities, volunteers will also be on hand to support home visits to reduce lone working and adapt to various tasks as needed to ensure efficient service delivery. Maintaining regular communication with Recovery Coordinators and supervisors, and reporting any concerns to supervisors.
Benefits:
Volunteers will receive a full training package and any additional training as needed. They will benefit from Regular supervisions and ongoing support, as well as access to a wide variety of extra training packages to support their development and knowledge within the recovery service.
Ideal Candidate:
This is a great entry-level voluntary role for anyone interested in learning and gaining experience in working within a drug and alcohol recovery service in their community. The role requires adaptability, good communication skills, and a commitment to supporting service users in their recovery journey.
