It’s often overwhelming for the people we support to make changes in their lives. You can help by donating your time as a volunteer mentor.
This role would be based in any of our 4 projects (Hatfield, Hertford, Stevenage, Watford) across the county - whichever would be best suited for you.
In this role you will be supporting the people who use our services by offering them support within our projects or within community.
Whether you’re talking about goals in groups, or helping someone with a referral in one of our projects no two sessions will be the same. We treat everyone as individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.
Helping people to take that next step can be a challenge, so in return for your time we will offer you comprehensive training and will ensure that you have someone at the other end of the phone for day-to-day advice and guidance. We will also make sure you have a named supervisor, who you will meet up with regularly.
By volunteering with us you will gain valuable experience and skills, as well as making a real difference.
This is what one of our Volunteer Mentors had to say: “I like the team spirit, that we all bring something different and we always put the people who use our service first”.
Our values are to be compassionate, open and bold. If this sounds like you we’d love to hear from you so click apply.
