Volunteers make an enormous contribution to our work at Change Grow Live.

 

Last year over 1400 volunteers donated over a quarter of million hours of their time to our organisation.

Responsibilities

Purpose of role:

  • At Change Grow Live you will be working with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential.
  • We strive to ensure our services are warm and welcoming environments. Your role is to be the first point of contact within the service greeting all our visitors promptly in a friendly and courteous manner. You will be supporting reception dealing with initial queries, coordinating appointments, signposting to support available within the service and the community.
  • Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience so your role will be to make them feel at ease offering to make them a drink and supporting them to complete their registration form
  • You will be a positive role model to the service users motivating, encouraging, and inspiring them to reach their potential. You will be provided with all the skills, training and support you will need to undertake the role.

Key Activities:

  • As first point of contact, ensure service users and other visitors receive a friendly and efficient service and that all visits are dealt with promptly and courteously.
  • Contribute to the improvement and upkeep of client areas, ensuring that the reception area is welcoming and tidy.
  • Answering telephone calls and signposting appropriately for our service users and visitors.
  • Contribute to maintaining the client information displayed in the reception area is tidy, current and relevant.
  • Support the reception team and key workers in carrying the message of recovery
  • Support service users to complete registration paperwork
  • Support service users to make telephone calls i.e. housing/ benefits
  • Issue food parcels and vouchers to those in need
  • Promote and support service user involvement
  • Providing basic advice and information on the service offer
