Your role will be to support the team in reducing the harm caused by drug misuse, by offering service users the knowledge, support, and equipment to enable them to make informed choices to support keeping themselves safe.

Your role will be to support the team in reducing the harm caused by drug misuse, by offering service users the knowledge, support, and equipment to enable them to make informed choices to support keeping themselves safe. 

A key part of the role will be to support services response to understand   harm reduction inventions including the promotion and delivery of Needle and Syringe Provisions, Naloxone, Nyxoid, HIV, dry Blood Spot Testing, BBV treatment within servicers and the wider community. Your primary aim will be engaging with all drug users advising them of the benefits of Naloxone, Nyxoid, HIV and Hepatitis testing and safer sexual health advice. You will also encourage and promote treatment options within the service as well as signposting and referral to other support services available. You will be actively engaging with people within the local communities, offering information, advice and interventions as well as creating a safe environment through the safe disposal of needle and syringe equipment.  

Delivering harm reduction interventions can be a fast-paced role with only a small amount of time to engage those who use our services, so the ability to build trust and effectively engage with people is needed. No two days are the same and you can really make a difference in helping to keep people safe. You will be provided with all the skills, knowledge, and support to undertake the role
