Responsibilities

At the CGL Pathways to Recovery Service in HMP Wandsworth, we work with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential.

Through your contributions of efficient and effective administrative support, you will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team at Pathways – HMP Wandsworth. Although this volunteer support role has an emphasis on administration, it also includes varied tasks to keep you engaged. We offer training and support for you to work towards holding a small caseload of low-risk clients if this interests you.

The Pathways Service at HMP Wandsworth delivers a high-quality provision by:

• Supporting service users from point of entry into Prison and through their treatment/recovery journey.

• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.

• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement.

• Providing advocacy for access to partnership services.

• Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination.

To enhance the volunteering experience and contribute to your development, we avidly encourage volunteers who can invest their time at least 3 days a week, for a minimum of 6 months.

Benefits include:

  • Full training, mentoring and support
  • NHS / Blue Light Card
  • Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Well-being Hour (Wednesday's)
  • Free Access to on-site Gym
